Kuenne Photography

So I was looking at my wedding pictures the other day, something I enjoy doing on a frequent basis, and just thinking about how unconditionally in love I am with both my husband and my photographer.

For our engagement and wedding pictures, we really wanted beautiful, candid, and artsy. I'm not huge on photographers who make you stare straight into the camera and give your cheesiest grin for every single picture. It makes me want to smash their camera on ground and yell "No, YOU smile!!"

So then, by some miracle, the heaven-sent Brittany Kuenne (pronounced 'keen') came into our lives.

She was everything we wanted and more. In addition to the exquisite photos she takes, she is lively, creative, and sees beauty and potential in the seemingly unlikely places. She is so friendly and energetic, and comes up with the best, and most flattering places and poses. Her passion for photography comes out in her excitement during a photo shoot, which naturally relieves any awkwardness one might feel about getting their picture taken by a stranger, and really makes the whole session such a stress-free and fun experience.

Whether it's senior pictures, engagements and weddings, maternity and newborn photos, a family shoot, or maybe a business needing some snazzy pics for marketing or website purposes- Kuenne Photography is the best experience and most quality photos available in Colorado. And that's that.

I'm still trying to talk her into moving up to minnesota to follow my family around with a camera and to be my best friend, so take advantage of her now, before she decides my offer is too good to refuse!

You can(should) check her out on Facebook and her Website, where her contact info is.

And here are some of my favorites from our incredible sessions with her.
(please appreciate how hard it was to choose from hundreds of gorgeous pictures, and resisting the urge to upload them all on to this page.)

I cannot truly express how thankful I am, to have the best day of my life captured so beautifully, and to still love looking through them on a frequent basis.

The Chronicles of Vienna's Hair: Volume II

There is absolutely no point in putting a headband on a little girl who..
1.) has a ridiculous amount of hair
2.) has a ridiculous amount of hair that stands straight up, refusing to surrender and go anywhere else.

Does she wear headbands often?

No.

...Ever?

No.

Why is she wearing one in this picture?

No idea.
But you can't deny that it is too flippin' cute.

Midwestern Happiness: Twice Baked Potatoes

Oh my word, these are delicious. I mean.. absolutely incredible.

I got this recipe out of The Pioneer Woman Cookbook, which would come right after my bible if I had to choose two books to be the only two books to read for the rest of my life.
Ree Drummond is my hero...and I kind of want to be her. It's sad.

You neeeed to make these! If you care at all for your friends or familys' happiness in life-you will make these. And love them. But no pressure.

I just did this recipe for 2 people, but feel free to double, triple, or quadruple it for your needs.

I love saying quadruple.

Take 2 baking potatoes, use a paper towel to rub canola oil all over them, put them on a baking sheet and in the oven at 400 degrees for 45 to 60 min, or until they're fork tender.

Fry up 4 pieces of sweet, sweet bacon.
(This is way more than it calls for in PW's original recipe, but um..I just really like bacon.)
Once it's fried, chop it up.

Grate up about 1 cup of cheese. And I'm quite serious about grating your own. The pre-grated cheese is covered in cornstarch and has a completely different effect and taste in everything.
I used Colby Jack, but Cheddar would be just as yummy.

You will need about 1/4 cup Sour Cream,

.. 1/4 cup(or half a stick) softened butter,

..and 2 beautiful green onions.
But green onions can be strong, so if you want you could use just 1!
Or 1 and 1/2!
Or 1 and 3/4!
OR.. ok I'll stop.

Now put all the sour cream, green onions, chopped bacon, butter, and only about half of your cheese into a bowl.

Once the potatoes are done, turn the oven down to 300 degrees.
Then pick the potato up, using a clean dish rag or a pot holder, and cut it in half, lengthwise, while still holding it.

Then scoop the insides into your bowl of deliciousness.
(The scooping sounds easier than it actually is, it's more of a gentle scrape than a scoop. You don't want them to fall apart so be careful.)

You obviously have to leave a little bit of the insides on the skins, because the skins themselves are not sturdy.

Next add a little seasoned salt,

..a little pepper,

...and a splash of milk.
(to give you an idea of what a splash is-about 1/8 of a cup.)

Then mix it all together with a fork.

And put it back into the potato skins with a spoon.

Now use the rest of your cheese to sprinkle on top.
And be sure to make a huge mess.

Stick them back into your 300 degree oven for 10 to 15 minutes.
They will come out hot, melty, and ready to be devoured in seconds.

Serve with Sloppy Joes or BBQ Sandwiches, and prepare for marriage proposals.
